Teltonika TCR100 LTE 4G Router

Teltonika TCR100 is the new consumer 4G router that gives home and business customers the advantage of Teltonika’s experience in the Industrial 4G router marketplace to deliver a reliable, secure and highly functional 4G SIM Router to deliver high speed 4G mobile broadband via Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11AC WiFi.

Using a CAT6 LTE 4G modem inside the TCR100 router, there is the potential for 300Mbps download speeds over the 4G network. However these speeds do rely upon your 4G SIM Card provider, distance to the nearest 4G tower and of course how many users are connected to the same tower and the types of data being streamed.

The TCR100 has a single SIM card slot so you can insert your chosen mobile data broadband SIM card. The choice of SIM will usually depend upon where you are. Some users in rural locations may be limited to just a few providers who can provide a higher speed 4G connection so that would define their SIM choice, followed by price. In towns and cities where all the networks are available with good signal strength then the first selection criteria may be the price with unlimited data SIM cards being the highest priority, followed by signal strength and speed. It may not always be the case that the network with the strongest signal provides the best performance as with network contention and throttling you may have better performance on different networks. You may also favour speed over price and are prepared to pay a higher price for a faster network connection.

Outdoor Antennas for TCR100 4G Router

If your 4G router is located in your home or office and you are only getting a few bars of signal, but have a much better signal outdoors you can consider the option of using an outdoor 4G antenna. If the signal indoors and outdoors is the same then there is not much point in installing an antenna and it may be worthwhile testing different network providers if your connection speed is an issue.

The Teltonika TCR100 has detachable LTE antennas and the router has standard SMA antenna connectors so it is easy to connect a different antenna. We recommend using a MIMO type antenna to ensure that the router has two antennas connected.
